ACC Togo 2018: Let’s Talk Eco-Business

It’s that time in the year for the 2018 African Clean Up Conference and Award. Away from the hazards of inappropriate environmental practices, Africans will congregate from  the 23rd to the 25th August, 2018 in Lome, Togo to explore the Business side of environment for a more robust eco-business experience and a roadmap for a greener and cleaner Africa.

Experienced environmentalists and professionals are billed to deliver on the theme, ‘The Business of Environmental Sustainability’. About 200 delegates within the African continent are expected for the 2018 African Clean Up Conference and Award organized in partnership with YVE International. This knowledge-based conference will also feature an Award Night, Green Tour to a recycling unit in Togo, Green Exhibition/Fair and Networking. During the award night, individuals and organization making positive impact in the environmental and community development space will be recognized and celebrated.

According to Alex Akhighe, the Chief Environmental Officer (CEO) of African Clean Up Initiative (ACI), convener of African Clean Up Conference and Award, the responsibility of addressing our environmental issues lies first with us as Africans. And creatively determining and exploring ways of success within our environmental space equally concerns us. “Africa Clean Up Conference and Award creates a platform for Africans to congregate and discuss their peculiar environmental challenges and determine indigenous solutions that best tackle their issues. More so, it encourages and motivates for greater good individuals and organizations whose initiative and best sustainable practice is contributing to conserve Africa.

“We cannot over emphasize that the dearth of information among our citizens makes environmental best practices in African a mirage. Exploring the business aspect of environmental sustainability will bring renewed insights to addressing our challenges while gaining economic and social impacts,” he said.

Agronature, an online agriculture and environmental media has signed up to be one of our official media partners on the event. Interested sponsors and partners are welcome on board. Spaces are available for brand advert on the communication materials of the conference.

ACI started the journey of addressing the African environmental experiences by Africans in 2016 in Nigeria. It was hosted by Ghana in 2017 in partnership with African Youth Organisation. Some of the conference speakers have been Desmond Majekodumi, Ola Oresanya, Isaac Mbit Bryant, Simon Turner and Yahaya Ahmed.
